Apparently shut down due to an alleged medical malpractice 20 years ago, this hospital was the perfect candidate for me to take a day trip down to Tainan, Taiwan, for some urban exploration. As we entered it was clear we weren’t the first visitors it had received. Prescription drugs, lay scattered across tables and floors, while others remained unopened. Broken syringes crunched underfoot and bottles of formaldehyde still kept their mysterious contents. The wind followed us inside, slamming random doors and causing the peeling wallpaper to dance. It was a spooky place to say the least.
You are truly a gifted photographer with an eye for abandoned buildings. I’m sure you will find great sucess. Well done!
How do you locate all these abandoned buildings? Do you research them and travel to find them, find them on your own, or learn of them by word of mouth? I’d love to explore some in the Toronto, Canada area if you know any good ones.
@ Derek – I could go b ack and get them for you ha ha.
@Twoey – I hop on my scooter most weekends if I’m around go go hunting for these places. I’m going to have to make a best of one day, I’ve got lots sitting around that don’t fit in any albums of their own.
Simply amazing!
Dude, WTF
This is incredible. How does a place like this remain accessible for almost 20 years?
That is the stuff nightmares are made of. And, yes, I could have done without the bloody hand print on the wall. Well shot!

You sure it wasn’t a mental hospital? ..or..perhaps a death factory?
PLEASE tell me you kept some of the glass bottles full of weird pickled specimens. I’d be willing to pony up some hella USD$ for those!
Amazing photos! I just can’t believe that this place hasn’t been stripped clean in 20 years.
Very cool stuff. It’s almost as if they had left the place inviting people to have the crap scared out of them upon entry.
